Your data & choices

Know where
the work goes.

Privacy is a deployment choice and a processing choice. Here is what that means in practice.

Local can mean local.

When application processing, model inference, and storage are local, information can remain on your computer. Local installation alone does not make an external API call local.

Connections send the context you use.

API models, speech services, connected apps, and cloud storage receive the data sent for the requested operation. A mapped folder that syncs to Dropbox or Google Drive is still connected to that provider.

Choose access deliberately.

Application rights, protected credentials, knowledge-collection permissions, and approval gates define which actions are allowed. Phone access and satellite workers connect to an authorized workspace; they do not bypass those controls.

Listening is a choice.

Ambient listening is off by default and requires visible browser participation. Open Swarm does not retain raw audio in that feature; configured speech services may process it. Review transcript retention and any optional speaker features before enabling them.

Orbit Browser for Open Swarm.

The Orbit Browser add-on connects this browser to the Orbit application on the same computer. It supports requested tab navigation, page reading, clicks, typing, and scrolling when you have enabled computer control.

Data used: requested tab lists include tab titles, addresses, and identifiers. A requested page snapshot includes its address, title, visible page text, and descriptions of interactive elements. Text you ask Orbit to enter is passed to the selected page. Depending on the task, this can include personally identifiable information, health information, financial and payment information, authentication information, personal communications, location, browsing data, user activity, and website content. Orbit processes requested actions and their results; the add-on does not continuously record your keystrokes, mouse movements, or browsing history.

Where it goes: the add-on obtains a connection token through the installed native helper and communicates with Orbit over a loopback connection on this computer. Orbit returns command results to your authorized Swarm workspace. If your task uses an external AI provider, the context sent for that task can be processed by that provider. Your workspace operator controls its storage and retention.

Local storage: the add-on stores its Orbit connection information and connection preference in this browser’s local extension storage. Its page element references are held in memory for the current snapshot. The extension does not add advertising, analytics, data sales, or an independent browsing-history collection service.

Your choices: turn off computer control in Orbit to refuse further browser commands. Remove the add-on through your browser’s extension settings to remove its local extension data. Workspace records already created follow that workspace’s retention policy. This public website.

The website serves product information and videos from its hosting provider. It contains no account form, advertising tracker, or third-party video embed added by this build. The hosting provider processes network requests to deliver pages and media. Your signed-in workspace has its own operator and configuration.
